Here are three different directions I was thinking about taking this. I don't really care for the red one without the particle board, but I can't make any other decisions at this point. I think I am just gonna go to sleep.

The blue one looks good, but I think the brown one (with the texture) looks best... I guess because it look smore natural.. then again, after you add the type it could change everything. I also like the yellow notebook paper idea you have on some of your images posted below... I think you should explore that idea further....
im trying to figure out if that blue is actually painted on there or if it is some photoshop filter......
