Work Spaces, My Places

So, I don't really have one specific spot where I work, but when I am at home my room and the deck seem to be my favorite places.  I also have studio space in the basement, but that is still kind of a work in progress (it is such an awful mess right now, hence no pictures). In addition, I work in the library at school a lot, or in a restaurant off of Broad St. near Aderhold, or in one of the courtyards. There are a couple of parks near my house that I frequent when the weather is nice, too.

Book Cover

This is the full book cover I did for Elizabeth's class. I really liked this project. I got the idea after I looked at a book of Chip Kidd's book cover designs. And then, when I searched for images on Google, I found an interview where Kidd talks with Milton Glaser. (I haven't read all of it yet, but I want to put it here so I can find it again and finish reading it.)

I read about a fun website in Print magazine called Typeisart.com. It was created by Jose Rodriguez and it is an interactive, flash-based site that allows you to move around components of letters to create an image. The website is very easy to use, and I thought it would be helpful for the political illustration we are working on now.

Interesting Designer

I did a project on Sagmeister the first semester of design classes, and after doing a bit of research about his work, I kind of fell in love.  I like his use of materials and ingenuity. The website is fun, too.
