Recipe Progress

The squares are placeholders for pictures of the finished dish.

I'm still not sure about the blue dots; I want to keep the blue bars,

but I think the dots might be too much. I'll decide when I put in the final pictures.

Recipe Layout So Far

I'm was thinking about maybe not showing the final product, but I always hate it when I find a recipe and it doesn't have a picture... so I don't know yet. All I know is that there are going to be fun, bright colors.

Recipe Inspirations

This is my inspiration for the cook book layout. It is a brazilian recipe, so I wanted the layout to have really bright colors and fun type.

The top two images are from Mopa, a design firm in Brasilia. The bottom two are from Fernando Volken Togni. He is from Porte Alegre and is only 26.

They are inspired by Aubrey Beardsley.

Self-portrait ideas

I really don't know what I want the image to be, but I know I want to try and illustrate it. Or make a stamp and paint in some details. Or mix a photo and illustration... I would like to try and do as little on the computer as possible with this, though. 

Or maybe I'll take all the worst facebook pictures and do something with those. ugh, I dunno.

For example:

5.     Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

7.     The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

9.     There is a great need for sarcasm font.

I made an illustration for the Drive Invasion poster. I haven't done a whole lot of illustration work so I thought I would try it out. I had a lot of fun drawing the car and messing with it in Illustrator. Hope you guys like it!
